Sweet and sour (M's)

8oz tin pineapples
4 tablespoons vinegar
3oz soft brown sugar
1tablespoon soy sauce
pinch salt
2 tablespoon cornflour
1 small green pepper

Drain pineapples from tin, 
Reserve juice and make up to 1/2 pint with water.
Combine this with vinegar,  soy,salt and brown sugar
Measure cornflour into saucepan mix to a paste with a little of liquid and then add the remaining liquid.
Simmer until liquid is clear.
Add any meat (previously browned)
Cover and cook for an hour or until meat is tender
Add sliced pepper and chunks of pineapple and cook for a further 15 minutes
.
This is what my sweet and sour is based on but you can vary the quantities/proportions to suit......I usually do.
